Date Change- CMEW/Xenakis and Downie

Just a quick calendar update, as I’ve had a couple of email inquiries about this program- 

 

My concert/recording with the Contemporary Music Ensemble of Wales scheduled for September 26th 2007 has been re-scheduled for March 9 2008. The performance is open to the public and is recorded live for broadcast on BBC Radio 3 at a future date on the Hear and Now show.

    oh how sad…why does it become so long a wait? I listen to BBC3 every day and not very often get a chance to hear full contemp programs on radio

    The membership of CMEW includes a number of members of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. BBC NOW changed their tour schedule (they’re in PRague the previous week) which meant that although the musicians would be back in time for the concert, many of their instruments wouldn’t be. Unfortunately, things move slowly in large organizations, and once that date was lost, we had to struggle to find another that worked for everyone.

    Should be a great show.
