Following on from our recent post listing all of the artists on the Orchestra of the Swan recording Mahler’s  Das Lied von der Erde and Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen as arranged by Schoenberg on SOMM Recordings, we are now happy to post the personnel for the Avie Records recording of Hans Gál and Robert Schumann’s 3rd Symphonies.

I highly recommend you check out  my descriptions (part I, part II and part III) of the incredibly intense rehearsal and recording process for this disc, which gives you some sense of just how hard these wonderful musicians worked.

Given how much praise the individual players’ artistry has gotten in reviews, including raves for the trombones’ work in the slow movement of the Schumann, and the solo playing for flute, oboe, clarinet and horn in the Gál, It’s great that readers can now see who deserves the credit:

The Bobby and Hans project depends on the generous sponsorship of music lovers and friends of the Orchestra of the Swan. Without your help, the orchestral music of Gal will remain unheard. We hope you will give what you can to keep the music playing.
