{"id":1244,"date":"2010-01-09T14:26:08","date_gmt":"2010-01-09T13:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kennethwoods.net\/blog1\/?p=1244"},"modified":"2010-01-09T14:26:08","modified_gmt":"2010-01-09T13:26:08","slug":"3-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kennethwoods.net\/blog1\/2010\/01\/09\/3-months\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">* When conductors (particularly guest conductors) ask for specific things to be put into the parts, they should have the good manners to do so well in advance of the first rehearsal.\u00a0 And that doesn\u2019t mean two weeks, it means\u00a0<strong>THREE MONTHS OR MORE.<\/strong> In most major orchestras, the organization gets in touch with the conductor many months in advance to inquire (usually through a questionnaire) whether they are providing materials, requesting a particular edition, or requiring any cuts, special markings, etc.\u00a0 If the conductor does not answer the questions until a week or two before the rehearsals\/performances, then he\/she cannot expect additional work to be done.
