PRESS RELEASE<\/span><\/font><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Lancashire<\/span> Chamber Orchestra returns to Lancaster<\/span><\/font><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n London Philharmonic Orchestra violinist Kate Birchall steps into the spotlight on Saturday 17 March, as the Lancashire<\/span> Chamber Orchestra returns for a second concert in Lancaster.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kate, who has charmed audiences across Europe<\/span> as a young solo violinist, will be mounting the podium at Christ Church on Wyresdale Road, to perform the solo violin part in Vivaldi\u2019s great, popular string chamber work \u2013 the Four Seasons. The concert forms part of the church\u2019s 150th<\/sup> birthday celebrations taking place during 2007.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n A specialist in Baroque and early classical music and an award-winning graduate of Cambridge University<\/span> and the Royal Academy of Music, Kate will be repeating acclaimed performances of The Four Seasons with Sinfonia da Capo and at St Martin-in-the-Fields when she performs the work in Lancaster under the baton of the dynamic American conductor, Kenneth Woods.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced \u00a38 and are available on the door or from Jacqueline Stamper on 01524 64083.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The concert marks a welcome return for the Lancashire<\/span> Chamber Orchestra, which first performed at Christ Church last May, when the church stepped in at the last moment to provide a venue after a concert in Cartmel was cancelled. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n More\u2026.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Conductor Kenneth Woods explained; \u201cWe thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome and the enthusiastic audience we found at Chist Church last season, and we are delighted they have invited us back to perform again. It’s a wonderful\u00a0 environment for music. I think it’s a programme that the Lancaster audience will really love- the ever popular Eine Kleine Nachtmusic, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons played by one of the most exciting violinists in the country, and a rare chance to hear one of Beethoven’s greatest and least known works, the “Serioso” quartet as arranged for orchestra by Mahler.
