This work is a ‘mash up’ of Schubert’s Lied Die Forelle and the Variations on that song which he included in his famous “Trout” Quintet. Verses of the song (orchestrated by Woods) are interspersed with variations from the quintet (also orchestrated by Woods for the same forces.
